personAbout me

Making complicated things easy to understand

I'm a UI/UX designer. I've worked at a nonprofit in Detroit and at an international company with Fortune 500 clients, two jobs with very little in common. That range shapes how I work, and I'm comfortable with teams and clients of any size. I want my work to pay for itself by making complicated things easy to understand.

Qualitative research

My research methods are user interviews, observation, action research, and content analysis. Most projects get some mix of them.

Design process

My process follows the standard UX steps, adjusted over time. I figure out what stakeholders and users are struggling with, map user flows, wireframe, research, build mockups and prototypes, run usability tests, work with developers, and make changes based on both data and what people tell me.

Empathy

I try to design for as many needs and user groups as I can. When people can tell a product was made with them in mind, they trust it and keep using it. Paying close attention to users also stops me from relying on assumptions, and it's how I find the pain points nobody mentions up front.
